European Public Sector Awards 2017 concluded successfully

The European Public Sector Award (EPSA), an initiative supported by Apogee Information Systems since 2009, concluded successfully with the Celebratory Award Ceremony which was held at the Provincial Government House in Maastricht on 22 November 2017.

Apogee undertook the design and development of the EPSA 2017 website as well as the development and support of an integrated system for all stages of the award process: application, evaluation by selected experts and final decision making by the EPSA award committee.

The system received 150 applications from 30 different European countries and from several EU institutions and agencies. The top submitters were Austria, Portugal, Spain, and Poland respectively. Out of all the applications submitted to the EPSA 2017, 34 projects from 18 different European countries and EU institutions have been identified as being a Best practice. Furthermore, on 26 September, a high-level international jury met in Maastricht for the final decision on the nominees and the award winners. 12 projects were nominated, from eight European countries and one European agency.

The three final EPSA 2017 winners, which were awarded the prestigious EPSA trophy are the following:

• Supra-local and Local administrative category : “Nordwärts”, submitted by the City of Dortmund (DE). 
• Regional administrative category: “Open.Heart Project”, submitted by the Ombudsoffice for Children and Youths Salzburg (AT). 
• European and National administrative: “The Co-operation Fund”, submitted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
