The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association - EMEA supports Apogee Information Systems on the development of an Artificial Intelligence E-Learning System.
The AI E-learning program, named ICARUS, consists of Machine Learning and Big Data analysis that allow taking into account business realities and learning needs, The system aims to make learning more profile focused, enhances the understanding on business practices, boosts subject understanding and grows engagement. This will enhance the value of traditional e‐learning systems as well as the learning material input by the tutor.
ICARUS will provide tools to students to follow their own individual learning paths, teachers can design their own personalized and adaptive tutor with the following sub-systems:
The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA is an independent think-tank specialized in socio-economic and financial developments in Europe, the South, East Mediterranean and Africa. EMEA will be the main pilot testing installation of ICARUS, and it will provide expert advice for the fine-tuning of the AI Modules.
The Founding President of the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi stated that “ICARUS will contribute to the revamping of education and learning processes using AI and big data analytics” She highlighted that “EMEA will co-develop the educational material with its partners for the testing phase of ICARUS.” The Managing Director of Apogee, Nektar Baziotis, underlined that “AI should be a cornerstone for better education and work performance”
The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association - EMEA serves as a leading forum for thinking and debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in the North, South, East Mediterranean and Africa, with the aim to promote sustainability and regional economic integration. It aims to contribute to the changing realities in the Euro-Mediterranean region by bringing together leading economists and high-level experts to think for the future of the Euro- Mediterranean region in a global context. It will strive to contribute to the rethinking of the Euro-Mediterranean and African economic policies in view of the new dynamics of a multi-polar world. EMEA promoted and co-funded the Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES), and other initiatives.
Apogee Information Systems was established in 2005 with operating offices in Greece, Luxembourg, and Spain.
