Apogee redesigns and develops symposiumpesticide.org for Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

Apogee has redesigned and developed the official website for the Symposium on Pesticide Chemistry XVIII, organised by the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

The symposium is a long-running international scientific event focused on environmental fate and risk assessment, with particular attention to the behaviour of pesticides in air, plants, soil and water.

We have worked with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore since 2015, supporting the development, hosting and maintenance of its web platforms. For this project, the goal was clear: build a modern site that is easy to manage, reliable under load, and suitable for an international conference.

The website acts as the main reference point for participants, researchers and organisers. It brings together the conference programme, abstract submission details, registration information and event updates in one place. The redesign focused on making this information easier to navigate and simpler for the organising team to maintain over time.

Scope of services

Apogee redesigned and rebuilt symposiumpesticide.org on WordPress, using an open-source stack. The project included design updates, CMS development, hosting, technical support, and ongoing maintenance.

Website design
The design work focused on usability, visual consistency and responsive behaviour across devices. The aim was to make key conference information easier to find, whether visitors were browsing the programme, checking deadlines or looking for registration details.

Website development (WordPress CMS)
We developed the platform in WordPress to give the organising team a practical way to manage content internally. Pages, announcements and conference updates can be edited without developer support for routine changes.

The build also included an event management setup and API integrations to support registration and scheduling workflows. This reduced manual admin work and made the site easier to operate during the conference cycle.

Hosting and technical support
We provided the hosting infrastructure for the site together with technical support. That gives the organisers a stable platform and a direct route for resolving technical issues when they come up.

Monitoring, content and system maintenance
Our work continues after launch through monitoring, content support and system maintenance. This includes WordPress core and plugin updates, performance checks, and routine maintenance to keep the site secure and available.

The result is a website that gives the Symposium on Pesticide Chemistry a clearer and more dependable digital presence. It supports the current edition of the conference and gives the organising team a platform they can continue to use for future events.
