Apogee delivers new ENoLL Knowledge Hub

Apogee Information Systems has completed development of the new ENoLL Knowledge Hub, an online platform designed to manage and share digital resources efficiently. The system supports multiple file types, both online and offline, and provides users with an intuitive wizard to manage resources. The platform is divided into two sections: a frontend for guest access, allowing users to read, open, and filter resources, and a backend for members and administrators to manage, approve, and modify resources according to their requirements.

The project was delivered for ENoLL, the European Network of Living Labs, an international, non-profit, independent association of certified Living Labs. It currently has 184 active members, spread over 41 countries. ENoLL focuses on facilitating knowledge exchange, joint actions, and project partnerships among its historically labelled +480 members, advocating for and promoting EU policies, promoting Living Labs and enabling their implementation worldwide. The Knowledge Hub is intended to centralise and streamline access to publications, podcasts, and documents for the ENoLL community. 

A 3-Pillar solution

The platform is built on the Apogee Essence CMS for backend operations and the administration & file submission interface, while using a modern Angular-based solution for the public-facing frontend. The system also integrates with the main WordPress-based website via an API secured with dynamic key authorisation, enabling data synchronisation and user authentication for access to private files. The backend supports a multi-role workflow with Contributor, Reviewer, Admin, and System Admin roles for uploading and approving resources. At the same time, the frontend displays all public items in a filterable list with detailed metadata, including title, publication date, and version. Users can view or download resources directly from the frontend.

The Knowledge Hub delivers a scalable, secure, and user-friendly environment. Distinct roles ensure permissions are managed appropriately, and integration with WordPress via a custom plugin enables seamless content sharing. The platform’s architecture allows for future extensions and performance optimisation while maintaining clear, structured workflows. Future developments will focus on adding automated workflows to improve user experience further, simplifying resource management, and supporting ENoLL’s growing dataset.
